Hi, I’m glad you’re here! I’m Mike Schwarze, founder of Golf Course Intel (GCI).

After years of being immersed in data collection, analysis, process improvement and project management, I came to a realization: I didn’t want to use those skills just to navigate office politics or climb someone else’s corporate ladder.

I wanted to build something of my own—something that blends my analytical mindset with my passion for the game of golf.

That’s what led me here. I use my background to break down golf strategy, optimize performance, and help players get more out of the game. Whether it’s course guides, player insights, mental preparation or smarter gear recommendations, I’m all about making golf more enjoyable and more personal.

This isn’t just a project—it’s a purpose to help you #PlaySmarter.

Duff Robertson

I’m Duff — former club pro, now full-time golf data nerd. I spent 12 years as a teaching pro at a private course, helping everyone from scratch players to 30 handicaps. But over time, I realized there was a gap: golfers had swing tips, but not clear course strategies backed by real numbers.

That’s what pulled me into AI and data analysis. I traded in my daily lessons for helping to build Golf Course Intel, combining my on-course experience with AI tools that help everyday players map out smarter rounds. My goal is simple: take the guesswork out of golf, so you play with more confidence and fewer wasted shots.

When I’m not on the course or behind a laptop, you’ll probably find me testing out driver shafts or working on my own short game.

Bibi “Birdie” Tan

I’m Bibi “Birdie” Tan, once a top-level collegiate golfer with a game built on precision and a mindset tuned for competition. My coaches called me “The Algorithm” because I could read a course like a code—spotting patterns, calculating risk, and mapping out shot selections.

As much as I loved the chase for birdies, I found a second calling: data. After graduation, I earned my master’s in analytics and dove headfirst into the sports tech world. Now I help athletes optimize their performance using statistical models and machine learning.

What surprises people is how much my golf background influences my work—analyzing player stats, wind conditions, course layouts. That’s actually how I connected with Golf Course Intel: combining my two passions, golf and data. Now I help design strategy guides using real-world course analytics, so players can approach each round with confidence and clarity and #PlaySmarter.
